A straighter, correctly aligned bite can benefit your dental and whole-body health and well-being in several ways, from making it easier to keep your teeth clean to improving your self-confidence regarding your smile’s appearance. In the past, you had to be willing to put up with the cost, discomfort, and potential hassle of braces to straighten a crooked grin. With the advances of dental care, we can offer you an easier, more invisible option.

When you use a clear aligner system, you get to precisely control the re-shaping of your smile, down to each weekly movement of each of your teeth. At the same time, the revolutionary clear material used for your aligner trays is almost invisible to the naked eye, especially with a good cleaning and regular care. So, not only can you count on effective results, but you can also control who knows you’re straightening your teeth.

At Sunrise Dental of Spokane, we guide new and existing patients through the process of getting and using clear aligners. Here’s what we think you should know about the ways this treatment could help you.

A full 3-D view

When you decide to start with a clear aligner system, we begin by taking an X-ray and digital scan of your mouth. We create a 3-D impression of your teeth to send to the manufacturer. They design a series of aligners that will sequentially shift your teeth, bringing them into line as rapidly and effectively as possible.

Tooth by tooth, week by week

You need to wear your aligners for 22 hours each day. You should take them out when you eat. You can also take them out for a break whenever you need to, just as long as you keep them on for at least 22 hours.

About every other week, it will be time to move to the next set of aligners in your treatment series. With each new set, your teeth continue to gradually shift. We typically send you home with a few sets at a time, so that you don’t have to come into the office every week. We just bring you in for a few checkups over the course of the treatment process.

Clear with care

We formulate your custom aligners from a unique patented material that can hold up to oral wear-and-tear much better than conventional plastics. When you put them in, it is almost impossible to tell you’re wearing anything at all over your teeth.

We design your aligners to fit snugly against your teeth, so you won’t lisp or slur your words. If you take regular care of them, including frequent rinsing and correct cleaning techniques, you can go through the whole treatment process without anyone being the wiser.
